Donald, your comments are a very unfortunate example of an "I'm
right, so that makes you wrong" exchange. You should take note that I
didn't include in my initial email on the subject: "anyone who thinks
Jon Anderson's lyrics are profound or even good knows absolutely
nothing about what constitutes good poetry." That wouldn't have been
very nice, would it? And you would then have a perfect right to feel
insulted -- as I do now
So I'm going to mediate this whole thing. Rick... Jon
Anderson wrote lyrics that often made no sense and were sort of, "stream of
consciousness." The words were just that... they were meant to carry the mood of
the song nothing more. It's not like Jon wrote anything that expresses an
opinion or educates the listener.
Donald, don't fuck with Rick.
There! It's over.
So, I just had a chance to listen to the new Bruce
Springsteen CD. It is really, really great. I don't give a rat's ass about you
naysayers. No one on this list is capable of producing anything close.
These songs ring of passion. They are Rock in it's purest form. Great music and
something to say. And a ton of great Chamberlin to boot.
I don't care if some of you disagree. Remember, only
my opinion counts.
