I'm 99% sure the Greek didmost of the music, and nicely at that too!
------------------------------------------
I’m glad you said “most” of the music..........

You won’t get an argument from me that most of the music from the Cosmos series was Vangelis.
There was one piece in the TV series that stood out and I couldn't find it on any Vangelis album.
I’m not a musician but I have a good ear, and I know Vangelis – and have his stuff as well.
While most people were disco dancing - I spent most of my time at the electronic/”New Age” records bins, sometimes searching until I found what I was looking for - often after hearing just the piece of a track on the radio...

The particular sounds I’m referring to are indeed on the Malaysian Pale album because I looked high and low until I found it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sufficiently interested enough now to pull that vinyl and search for that track...(think “whale sounds” because that’s why I bought this album..."Marouba Bay" caught my eye, or ear .....I'll see if I can dig it up...unless Frank beats me to it.

Better check that out because Vangelis was responsible for all of the Cosmos music that I know of.I have been a fan of his since before that series aired, own the series and without checking the credits right now I'm 99% sure the Greek didmost of the music, and nicely at that too!Tony#510----- Original Message -----From: Str03@...Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2007 10:05 AMSubject: Re: [Mellotronists] Mellotron dominated recordings
Ypsilon In Malaysian Pale ............
I bought the original vinyl.
I'm talkin '80's here...
Background music...but some of it I actually liked - (the part that was used in the Carl Sagan's Cosmos series on TV)
From what I have heard, there was a remix that butchered the original (OK..I'm sure some of you wondered if it could get any worse)...and that original release fetches some heftybucks (aural fecal and all).

I'm not paying 36 cents to find out!
