----- Original Message -----From: ross_mehanSent: Sunday, October 14, 2007 11:14 AMSubject: [Mellotronists] Need Mellotron in No. CaliforniaHi Everyone--My name is Ross and I'm new to the group. I'm a huge Moody Blues fan, and
I've been entranced with the sound of the Mellotron for years. I've had the pleasure of
meeting and spending time with Mike Pinder, one of the founders of the Moody Blues. I'm
not a musician, but I've heard the mellotron used by many artists over the years, and Mike is
(IMHO) the master. I've never heard anyone who's gotten the exquisite sounds out of this
tempermental device as he has.
Jerry Korb, who wrote the excellent mellorton history on mikepinder.com, reffered me to this
group. I've had a ongoing dream of doing a video documentary on the mellotron, with Mike
as the guide. The thing is I need is someone with a functioning mellotron that would be
willing to open their home or studio for a good chunk of time to film this. I don't intend to
make money on this, just to document a piece of musical history. I didn't want to approach
Mike until I had the elements together.
Anyone out there interested? Thanks--Sincerely, RossNo virus found in this incoming message.

Hi Ross,
Welcome to the oddest collection of human beings and opinions
around!
You will learn a lot here, but I hope you are not easily
offended as some of these guys will rip you a new one!
You'll find out who there are once you express your opinion if
it clashes with theirs!
Much good information is to be had here as long you have a
thick skin.
Just consider the source an forget it, in my
opinion.
Enjoy!
Best regards,
Tony
