The noise is not surprising considering the torque needed to move all those tapes. How loud is a Mark I or II when it cycles?
The venerable "Julia" (MK-I #124) is fitted with Meccano
chains and driving equipment. It seems to my ears to be a bitquieter than the larger roller Reynold chain of MK-II, SFX and M300models. The MK-I inching for example, is a series of muffled pulses,vs. the tick-tick-tick of other early Trons. To those of you who visited the M-Ranch and saw both MK-I and
MK-II models side-by-side, how do they compare noisewise ??I'd like to hear your comments about this.Cheers, -- Jerry Korb (noisy only when eating Mexican cuisine,
or authentic Philly Cheese Steaks)
