So if Andy's 886 is early '73 and Jerry's 681 is mid '73 well I don't want to guess on 703. Good question for Martin, maybe they built and warehoused these and as orders came in they picked a unit at random? Mine has Streetly Mfg sticker on back panel and round 3 prong British Standard power cord. Did the SS versions also come wired with same plug and markings? The tapes in my former 459 were marked BBS and were choir/violins/marked BBS and were choir/violi all and had cello instead. Also the BBS set was on a grayish tape and the other on brown. From any articles I've read on SS I was under the assumption that the 400's were all manufactured in England and SS acted as an agent here in US?? Maybe other original owners could help to clarify?.... Also take into count that some units were sold through music equipment outlets and could have been an stock for a period of time. ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone.
