Thanks for the detailed report from SD, FS #1. Closest I've
been to the 4-Track since Bob Kinney nervously permitted me
to inspect/play the powder-blue unit at Bomar in 1981.
To add to Char-El's comments, the 4-Track was conceived by
Bill Eberline during the final days of Sound Sales. It was to be
originally a retrofit inside a std. M400 cabinet . Great idea !
The dangerous Maytag concept (helluva concept!)
was Bob Kinney's idea, in all certainty.
Last time I personally hung with Bill/Nancy Eberline in their
Cornwall CT home in 1980, I presented Bill a miniature 4-Track
model (in wood) to him. A duplicate still stands atop my Tron
at the M-Ranch. See attached photo.
Last time I drove thru that portion of CT along I-84, Bomar's
location is now called "Martin's Aluminum Gutters and Doors."
Better sales potential than the four 4-Tracks mfgd. there in '81-'83.
