RE: [Mellotronists] CHECK THIS OUT!

The mix of this concert is so much better here than on the Fripp release.. I
wonder what happened?

A note: Some of this material is available on the DGM album "Epitaph", but
it sure doesn't sound the same! Well worth a listen, especially in light of
the current list discussions. Now here is some mellotron that will make your
hair stand on end! If you ever wanted to know exactly what Ian played on
mellotron for "Epitaph", here's your chance. (And doesn't the 60 cycle hum
from the amps take you back?)

It's also interesting to compare the use of mellotron by KC's original
line-up with Pinder's use. The difference couldn't be more apparent here.
Same instrument, same tapes, but holy shit. Is it better? I don't know.
That's up to you to decide.

Hope you also enjoy Giles' drumming. I don't think there's any drummer who
is so wonderfully idiosyncratic -- or brilliant.

Cheers,

Rick
