Mesage for Dave Barton....

Mesage for Dave Barton....

2002-04-09 by Jeff Caraway

Hi Dave,
I got this email from Hal in Colorado. He requested that I forward it to
you.
It seems he knows your car!

I tried to email you directly, but my email bounced as well, so I
decided to post it to the list.

Best Regards,
Jeff Caraway

I tried to e-mail Dave Barton Chassis number 5577 with a little
information about his car and the e-mail was returned "undeliverable".
If you have a way to contact him, please pass along this message to him
or let him know that I would like to get in contact with him.
Thanks,
Hal

Hi, my name is Hal and I believe I have a 5-10 second snippit of your
car racing at Steamboat Springs, CO. While video taping my father's
D-type Devin, the red Marcos with New Mexico license plates passed by. I
remember the car in the mid to late 80's, but I don't remember ever
talking to the owner. I have a 1969 GT 5353 and am going to try to race
it once I find out how the hell to set it up to scream!
Sincerely,
Hal

Hello Group,
The clutch master cylinder on my car has seized ......I have
a spare brake master cylinder........I have been told that increasing
the bore size of a master cylinder will reduce the "mechanical
advantage" and so make the pedal effort higher ........My question to
everybody is......... how much pedal effort is required in stock form?
Of course each engine /trans combo will have different results but I
can draw my own conclusions from the feedback.....any comments would
be greatly appreciated.
          Dave #5577
P.S. I found out that the power windows came from a Vauxhall
Viscount.......read...........(hens teeth)

The red Marcos racing in Colorado with New Mexico license plates in the mid
80's is most likely my car. The previous owner, who is a friend of mine,
mostly raced a TR250. He did race the Marcos occasionally though and I
believe he did take it up to Colorado. I used to pit for him when he was
racing in New Mexico. The only other Marcos that was ever registered in New
Mexico that I know of was a wooden chassied Rover V8 located in Taos.
Supposidly this was an experimental installation of the Rover V8 by the
factory. I never had a chance to see the car and the owner moved to
California many years ago. I never heard of it ever being raced.

Hello Mike
I have a New Mexico registration for my car in the papers I
recieved when I bought the car. I have not heard from Hal yet to
confirm whether it is my car or not ......it shouldn't be to hard to
figure out as the number 136 on my car is as big as the door .
Whoevers car it turns out to be , footage of any kind involving
a vintage Marcos is exciting!!
                    Cheers Dave #5577
