pre- 1964 Marcos

pre- 1964 Marcos

2002-01-18 by twklausi

hello, by chance I came across this page. I really wonder, that all
marcos internet sites and groups have no good material and
information from the old days of the make. From ugly duckling to
gullwing and fastback, there is really to find nothing or even wrong
stories. But only these were the cars with correct Fia-legitimation
(FIA form 33 and 33b) , which were competed in the international race
history of the sixties, unfortunately the 1800 never came to
international racing glory and never competed in any international
race in the history. Only the mini marcos also had its correct Fia -
legitimation . the picture of the mini marcos in your page was taken
by me in 1967 1000km race Nürburgring and shows the car in the
section Karussell (bad quality, why?).if you need help concering this
vacuum (pictures and facts) please contact :

You're right. The information is limited. I have met with Dennis & Peter
Adams, Jem Marsh, Graham Coombs, and Gordon Sutton in the past. They
couldn't supply a great deal of information on the early cars. I ahve been
able to contact some of the original gullwing owners, and so has Per
Haegermark.

I have a reasonably good archive on the gullwings started including some
early photos, but probably the best source for anyone regarding the
gullwing, fastback & 1800 would be Per Haegernark. He can be contacted
through the Swedish Marcos Owners Club web site.

hello david, i know you only by name, but from your gullwing i have
still some little parts of seat-covering material ,you sent to per
some years ago. i know per well, as well as jem and dennis adams ,i
met several times. when you look at the foto page, i have added some
pictures of the pre-64 marcos, i am racing, and 2 historic fotos
(only to make hungry anyone to open this pages of marcos-history).
unfortunately my cars seem to be the only aktive appendix-k racers in
the world, even in england happens nothing concerning these old
marcos. By the way,
the blue marcos is the ex jem-marsh fastback, but you shurly know it,
or?
the matter was, that i am confused, to come across the same pictures
of old marcos in every marcos page, and i always hope to see
pictures, i have never seen before, unfortunately not.
greetings to all marcos enthusiasts

Hi,
I am catching up on messages since I was away last week and came
across this one.
First of all, WELCOME to the group and thanks for posting those
fantastic pictures!
I run the Marcos Maniacs Web-site and would be very happy to work
with you to help fill this void in Marcos history. As with the Mini-
Marcos picture you mentioned (which I pulled from another site),
there really isn't very much out there on the rich racing petigree
that Marcos enjoys. I would like to fix that, provided I can get the
time and information, so please email me at:
DovenWolf@...
and we can work on getting your information on our site.

And if anyone else has any material to add, please feel free to
contact me.
