For those of you in the Marcos Group who had requested specific Marcos parts from me, I finally have confirmation that the order is being shipped from the UK today so I should have your parts in hand within a week's time. Thank you for your patience and I'll be in touch when the parts arrive. Marshall Moore Classic Motor Works

Took the V6 GT out from winter storage today. Checked oil, water and pressure in the tires, and with power assistance from an extra battery, the car started :-) A bit low oil pressure, but it ran smoothly. Even the heavy petrol leak from the accelerator pump was cured with a new gasket and making new treads for the screws. But; when checking the engine, oil was all over :-( Stopped the engine quickly, and started the hunting for the leak. Noticed several cracks and one big hole in the oil pressure hose... I'll trace one locally, but how on earth do you remove - and fit a new - hose? Especially on the engine side; it's impossible to get a spanner down to where the hose end is... Any advices? And also; any advices for a better hose than the plastic one being there now...? Regards Bjorn-Anders, Norway http://www.haverstad.net/marcos

Message from Norway (also) The plastic oil pressure hose should preferably be replaced with a steel reinforced hose of the same type as used on brake hosed. Burton in England (www.burtonpower.co.uk) sell ready made kits for this purpose, even with a T-piece in the outer end, to make provision for an oil pressure lamp as well as the mechanical meter. Good luck --- In MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com, "Lotus fan" <super7@...> wrote: > > Took the V6 GT out from winter storage today. > Checked oil, water and pressure in the tires, and with power assistance from > an extra battery, the car started :-) > A bit low oil pressure, but it ran smoothly. > Even the heavy petrol leak from the accelerator pump was cured with a new > gasket and making new treads for the screws. > > But; when checking the engine, oil was all over :-( > Stopped the engine quickly, and started the hunting for the leak. Hi Bjorn-Anders, I have a similar problem on my 3 litre Volvo as the plastic oil pressure line runs very close to the exhaust manifold. I had a mishap a few

The hose is out – now I just have to find a new one.
I plan to visit two ‘hose-shops’ Friday morning.
Hopefully the car will be running tomorrow night ;-)
Suits me fine, as the clutch pump on the MG gave up today, and need to be changed – and I need the garage where the Marcos is in order to fix the MG K

New hose has been fitted , but I wonder...
Do I have to fill the hose with oil, prior to connecting it to the oil pressure gauge – or will the pressure from the engine arrange this?

As mentioned in earlier posts, the oil pressure hose on my 217;69 3.0 V6 Marcos broke during the winter.
I have temporarily replaced it with another hose, just so I can use the car.
But; when testing it, it now leaks from the adaptor.
I have sent a mail to Burton in order to order the correct parts.
But it takes loooong time to get answers from them.
Is there another source for parts for the 3.0 V6 Essex engine, quicker than Burton Power?
Thankful for quick reply – summer is approaching, fast…

I would advice to also get in touch with Marcos Heritage to obtain parts for these old cars. You'll find them at http://www.rory.uk.com/ They're usually quite quick in answering and if they have the part it'll be on its way within a couple of days. --- In MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com, "Lotus fan" <super7@...> wrote: > > As mentioned in earlier posts, the oil pressure hose on my '69 3.0 V6 Marcos > broke during the winter. > > I have temporarily replaced it with another hose, just so I can use the car. > > But; when testing it, it now leaks from the adaptor. > > > > I have sent a mail to Burton in order to order the correct parts. > > But it takes loooong time to get answers from them. > > > > Is there another source for parts for the 3.0 V6 Essex engine, quicker than > Burton Power? > > > > Thankful for quick reply summer is approaching, fast > > > > Bjorn-Anders > > 69/4554 > > > > > > > > From: MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com [mailto:MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com]

Oilpressurre is working again. A new adaptor from local GH Fittings, and a new hose from TESS cured the problem. Now I need to adjust toe in befor next weekend's annual gathering with the Norwegian Sports Car Club (http://www.sportsvogn.no) Thanks for your help.
