Door waist seal?

Door waist seal?

2003-01-22 by Don Lattimer <donlattimer@pacific.net>

Hi all,

I'm replacing my "door waist seal". What's that you say? It is the
rubber weatherstrip on the outside of the side windows (keeps the
rain out I guess). The strip from a Triumph Spitfire is longer than
needed but just has to be cut to length. They are on sale at
www.victoriabritish.com for $10 each (normally $21 ea.)

My question is: Is there a strip on the inside of the window in a
Marcos? Normally they are a fuzzy type material. Mine does not
have anything except a 1/2" gap between the window and the frame.

Mine is a 1971 with power windows. Any help?

Don . . .
My Mantis also has no inside strip on the side windows - just the 1/2" gap between window and inner door panel as you describe.

Hi all!

It should have a seal based on an old design with felt in it; originally came from an old Austin/Morris I have been told!
