Hi Paul I just got off the phone with the tech line of Thermo-tec. He said in the past 15 years they have been selling the wrap, the only reduction of header life has been due to wrapping old headers, not letting the wrap dry after installation, or some people double wrap them. I wrapped my pipes a little "gappy" here and there and also wrapped 2 of the pipes together. I am more interested in reducing under hood temps. He said using the wrap for this purpose should not affect my headers life.
