Maniacs,

Mike didn't have the best position tho. He was ahead of me on the
ride. To watch peoples reactions to first seeing one Marcos and then
a second following was priceless. Only had to stay out of their way
when they swerved. Best time I ever had driving a British Car!

The show had about 55 British cars. Needless to say I had the only
Marcos present but a number of people mentioned they had seen the two
of us riding thru town on Saturday. I even won a tire pressure gauge
for being the only "Marlos" present (announcer was a local Kiwanis
member with limited British car knowledge).

Halfway thru the show a gent from Christie's Auction House parked
next to me with an Aston Martin DB3S. Guess only 9 are left in the
world. Price tag at recent auction was $850,000. Nice car but the
Marcos held it's own in the "oohs and ahhs" department. When told it
had cost me 100 times less than the Aston, it was the instant
favorite.

On the way back home Sunday eve I drove up Camino Real in Silicon
Valley (San Jose, etc.) While sitting smugly at a traffic light, a
Lamborghini Diablo VT ($295,000 new) sidled up next to me. If the
guy driving wasn't Howard Stern it was his twin. He fought with his
ego momentarily and finally succumbed; "what is that?" he asked
increduluosly. "Just like the license plate says" I replied, "a
Marcos". With that the light turned and for a micro-second I had him
off the line........ahhhh, what dreams are made of.......

All in all a delightful weekend filled with new friends, old friends,
British cars and credit card bills from Cannery Row (Tisha had a
great time also!)

Put 900 miles on the car in 3 days, new tires (another post) and all.

Happy motoring!!
