Re: [MarcosManiacs] Fuel Cell

2002-05-07 by Mike Denman

Hi Dave,
The fuel tank in my car has the same arrangement as you describe. One side is plugged and the other side (right side) is the fuel pick-up. The fuel pickup has an elbow fitting with a brass tube soldered/brazed to the threaded end that reaches down into the tank almost to the bottom. My car seems to be vented through the filler cap. Is this correct? Jac Myers, do you know for certain? I certainly have had no problems with the fuel being drawn out of the tank so the tank has created a vent somewhere if not through the filler cap.

Subject: [MarcosManiacs] Fuel Cell

Hey gang,
Just got my fuel cell back from getting cleaned and leak checked
.........either side of the filler neck there is a male .125-27 npt
fitting ..........I assume one is for line feed and the other is for
venting........neither of the ports extends deep enough into the tank
to act as a pickup .......is this correct? If so is there that much
suction in the line to pull the fuel through even at low fuel levels.?
