RE: [MarcosManiacs] 3V 5613 has a new home!! Marcos meeting, and other stuff.....

2002-04-08 by Jeff Caraway

Hi All,
YES!!!! Michael and I met on his way back home with his Marcos. It was
great!
We talked for hours comparing our cars. It amazes me how many subtle
differences there can be between two such similar cars.
His car is a great Marcos! The Volvo six ran as smooth as silk and the
yellow and black combination looks absolutely great on the GT body.
Something that really surprised me was the wheels. I have never seen a
Marcos factory wheel up close (mine are K. N. Engineering starmags) and
was amazed to find little Marcos emblems molded right into the wheels.
What a cool detail!

One interesting difference that Michael and I noticed was with the brake
master cylinders. His was actually the same size master as my clutch
master. My brake master cylinder was much larger. Now, I know that
several of you guys have done work to your brake and clutch master
cylinders, so please add your observations!
Do any of you have dual-reservoir systems? We noticed that one of the
pictures of the pedal assembly (in a brochure that I have) actually had
3 master cylinders (1 big one and 2 smaller ones). Could that be a
dual-reservoir setup?

Michael and I also took my car for a spin which was great fun.
He treated me to pictures of his great car collection as well.
I plan on putting pictures of our meeting and Michael's car on the
web-site with my next update.

Speaking of which, I made a slight site update this weekend. We have a
new Project of the Month (thanks to Jack Myers!), and some other slight
changes.
I'm still working on the modern racing page and should have it done very
soon.

I guess that's all for now,

Michael,

Congratulations!!! Great news!

Did you drive it or haul it?? Stop to see Jeff? Tomorrow when I
get to my other computer I'll e-mail you some sites you might
enjoy. For now, you'll probably be unavailable to the rest of
the world for a while. Married?? If so, will the wife mind when
you go out to sleep in it? Just kidding.........

Took mine for a nice ride today and all the "winter changes"
worked well.

Welcome and best of luck!
