Hi guys,
While everyone has power windows on their minds, I thought it would be an
appropriate time to ask if anyone has replaced or restored the door glass.
The passenger window on my car became dislodged last fall and I have been
intending to rectify the problem before the season starts next month. It
appears that the channel into which the glass is mounted has corroded, so it
probably entails removing the mechanism and doing something to arrest the
rust before putting it back together. Has anyone undertaken a task similar
to this? I'd be intersted in finding out the best way to accomplish the task
with the least amount of down time. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks Donny
I have sandblasted all the crud off the "scissor" (its amazing
how much crap collects on something buried inside a door}
There is a part # stamped onto the arm which reads...7960626 RH.
........7960627 LH..I have the left hand "scissor" the right hand one
was missing when I bought the car. I have been to the "Big 3" parts
guys and the #'s don't match anything they have on record.....I
thought it might be a Ford piece as I know that Jag used some Ford
stuff in the 60's.
Any leads greatly appreciated

operate (the whole car does not operate either!), I have looked
closely at the mechanism which consists of an electric motor and a
small scissors jack assembly which raises and lowers the glass- also
called a regulator. It looks like a generic 1960s British power window
assembly. Since I was parting out a Jaguar Mk 10 (same as a later
420G) with power windows, I removed two of the assemblies. They look
like the same motor, though the long "screw" part of the Mk 10
regulator is longer. It looks like I can combine the Marcos regulator
and the Jag motors to end up with working units. I haven't attempted
this yet, as I have a lot more important details to attend to first.
Maybe this weekend, I will try to confirm if the parts interchange.
Any other leads anyone?
