At long last making some type of progress on the Marcos project. Problem, body does not want to come off of chassis. As far as I can tell, all sheet metal screws are out, including two in fuel tank area. Rear leading arm bolts are out (Had to drill heads off and grind). Rear of body is moving up and down, movement stops at seat back bulkhead. Could it be that the foam between the steel chassis and fiberglass body is acting as an adhesive? I made an, "L" shaped tool to fit on top of the chassis sills to break the foam away. Tried to run tool between chassis and fiberglass, tight fit but it did move along top of chassis sill. As per other posts, installed floor jacks under seat pans. Of course plywood to spread the load between jack and fiberglass seat pan. When I started lifting, fiberglass cracking, car with chassis came off jack stands.
I keep looking for sheet metal screws or other fasteners, can find nothing. The car is stripped. No mechanicals, no electrical, no doors, glass, nothing, bare shell. Tomorrow I will get up on the lift and perhaps there something under I am not aware of. Hand brake is off car. Any ideas as to what could be retaining the body? The fiberglass sills fit tight against the metal lower chassis tubes. Ran a tool between fiberglass sills and lower chassis tubes. Any suggestions or ideas as to what is going on? Thank you for the time and advice. Steve V. Marcos in Arizona
