Hi Danny,
I use Uniroyal Rallye 380 175 R13 86T tyres, which are probably the tyres Larry refers to as the tyres from Holland. On my car they didn't require the rear wheel arch to be cut out, as far as I know they're regular sized. I could measure the roll radius to be sure. However, I don't know whether these are available in the States. Here in the Netherlands, it's the 14" tyres which are more difficult to acquire.
regards,
Remco

Danny,Because 13" tyres are almost unavailable, except from Taiwan or China, I would recommend a 14" wheel like the MINI LITE'S. There is a 13" from Holland, I beleive, that has a larger roll radius, however, the rear wheel arch has ti be cut out to the rear about 3/4" to give tyre clearance. I did this on a steel chassis 1970 Marcos awhile back, and it gave the car better road handling. They ran about 170.00 each including shipping. The conversion to wire requires spindle changes.
Regards,
Larry

I'm going to be getting new wheels for my wood hulled 1600 GT. It currently has 13" Dunlops with bias ply tires on it from the time before I bought the car about 35 years ago. Its nearing the end of a loooooooong restoration and I'd like to know people's opinion about whether to source new 13" wires or switch to 14" low profile. Also does anyone have a suggestion for sourcing good wire wheels at a reasonable price including if necessary shipping to the west coast of Canada.
Thanks for any guidance.
