At long last the Marcos is in the first layer of polyester primer. Applied 2 gallons on the body, nose, doors and rear deck lid. One of the fiberglass material suppliers has colored gel coat. Not sure on the application process yet. Some use a DurTech special UV protector and gloss enhancer mixed in with the gel coat. Another uses a Duratech clear gel coat on top of the colored get coat. Curious what others think of gel coat Finnish instead of paint. I know how paint reacts, never worked with gel coat before. My concern would be the car would end up looking like a carnival ride. But.....the gel coat finish could be more durable and easier to apply. Hopefully the car will be red, still sanding and shaping polyester primer.
