Steven,What a cowinkydink... I worked for Morgan Yacht Corp. in Clearwater, Fl. back in the early 1970's. I was a sailor and owner of a sail boat until the hole in the water got to be more than wanted to fill (dock fee, insurance, bottom jobs etc.). I have been making molds off my car for a few Marcos owners over the years.
Regards,
Larry

LarryWith new materials (the types of glass and resins, both polyester & epoxy) one can/could build any of the Marcos body parts which would be stronger and lighter than original. I’m a sailor and boat builder (as a hobby, so I work with all the new stuff), but this is time consuming and just the materials can get expensive. So it would take a special person to save this car. Given other Marcos cars one could buy, but I hope someone takes the project on!ThanksStephen#5916T

Subject: RE: [MarcosManiacs] Re: E Bay Motors USA, 1600GT? Well… it is good to see that the price of Marcos cars is increasing. I hope the guy gets what he is asking. An E-type in the same condition would still command a much higher price even though Marcos is better looking, cost about the same when new, has about the same performance (depending on engine), and is much more rare. RobinThree years ago I had some glass work #5916, (the other gays insurance company was paying) so I took the car to a first rate shop in the Bay Area. They did great work but is was very expensive! To fix this car correctly is going to cost a lot of $$$. The car looks like a standard Volvo powered car imported, so a complete restoration would have the owner upside down big time (my two cents).ThanksStephen5916T From: MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com [mailto:MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com]
