Hi Peter,

How is your car going?  Do you have it on the road?  I haven't touched mine since I put the new radiator in it about 8 months ago.  I didn't even start it again.  A couple of weeks dedicated work and I could probably have it back together, but that's not likely to happen for another year.  Then last Jan I bought an old BMW R100S to restore, and stalled while I waited for 5 months for a mate to get me some paint.  Some times when someone does you a favour they're not really doing you a favour at all.  I could have bought the paint and had the job finished three months ago.  I really wanted an R90S, but I was at Amaroo Park to see a R100S win the Castrol 6 hour back in 1977.  I'm compromising by painting my R100S in the R90S fogged Daytona orange.   Now I'm at NAB doing stupid long days again with no time for anything.  

How much does your Marocs weigh?  I'd have thought it'd be pretty light compared to the Volvo or Ford V6 versions. They'd be a different car altogether with a modern lightweight 2.0l Jap motor in, like the one in the S2000. 

Just saw a show on TV about the Honda S600.  Reminded me of my S800.  That was light and nimble, but underpowered, even when you revved it to 11,000 RPM as I did all the way to work and back each day.

No idea if this reaches you, but here we go. I 
owned a 67 wooden chassis and regret for ever selling it.
 
around 40 years after, I have now imported a steel 
chassis 3.9ltr around 80 model from GB. And it exhibits all the flaws I always 
knew about. Heavy as, with an engine that has not zip (albeit 3.9 ltr) and a 
feel like driving a tank.  The wooden chasis GT1600 I owned was nimble as. 
 
But as to details? I am now amazed at how little 
information is available about any of these cars. And I mean in detail: what is 
the rear axle, the front suspension, and so on. My earlier GT1600 had a Ford 
rear axle (a Ford 1660 engine and gear box and GT6, Herald or Spitfire front end 
stuff.
