Mike,
I have no idea what your connection is for the temp switch to the radiator, but Triumph TR7/8 (early 1980s) simply had a hole in the side of the radiator tank with a rubber grommet that the temp switch pushed in to. A metal clip snapped around this gripping on the edges of the tank to retain the switch.
If this sounds like the same method of retaining your switch (the vintage is similar), then you might try to obtain the grommet/seal from a Triumph TR7and TR8. Victoria British has this "sensor grommet" listed as part #10-039 for $2.45. You'll end up paying more for shipping than for the part. I have no idea if this is the same as yours, but it is at least a starting point. You can also check with other Triumph Wedge parts suppliers like the Roadster Factory. The actual Triumph part number for the grommet is URP1027(Victoria British use their own part numbers).

It turned out to be simple....it was the second overflow connection that was plugged off, the other connection went to the remote overflow tank. The small diameter tube had broken (couldn't see it) at the neck of the fill connection. Problems solved.... well not exactly I have the radiator being cleaned and repaired but do not have a source for the rubber gromet / seal for the temperature switch. Any iteas?
