Hi Don, The problem I'm guessing you and Mike are having with the electric windows occurs more often in colder climates. The window wiring runs through the door stop strap. Over time, with the door opening and closing, the wires are bent back and forth and eventually break. Because of the tight fit, even when the wires have broken, with the door closed the broken ends are usually held together. That's why they will work and then not work intermittently. Eventually the wires become separated permanently and have to be replaced to get the windows to work again. The problem occurs more often in colder climates because the plastic is more brittle when it's cold and is more easily broken. I must have replaced mine half a dozen times over the past 31 years. It's a pain running complete new wires from under the dash cover to the electric motors so I eventually figured it would be much easier to replace just the section that was broken. To that end I now have a separate piece inside the strap with terminals at either end. When the windows stop working, I just replace the section of wiring within the door strap. Four in the show and one outside in the parking lot. As for mine, it's still in the paint shop being re-done after the original repair job started cracking. I've been promised a "show quality" job so I'm waiting... If you figure out the window thing, let me know. Mine stop working occasionally and then start working again as mysteriously as they stopped. Have never been able to isolate the problem. Don #3M5759 ----------------------------------------- This e-mail message and any attachments contain confidential information from Medco.
