Marcos Maniacs

Hi guys,

I just got back from a vacation in England where one of my friends pointed
out an ad in this month's 'Classic and Sports Car' magazine, which I believe
is only sold in the UK. If anyone has a copy, the ad is on page 208. It
shows a nice-looking teal green Marcos Mantis with the following verbage:

MARCOS MANTIS 2+2 ONLY 32 BUILT. THIS IS THE BEST EXAMPLE EX MOTOR SHOW CAR.

Pigskin leather, uprated brakes, Rover 3.9 V8 36,000 miles only. 5 speed
gearbox, electric windows, 1969 no road tax needed.
This unique car is owned by Lyn Marsh wife of Jem Marsh founder of Marcos.
Great fun to drive selling due to lack of space. Needs TLC hope it stays in
UK.

There were no other Marcos cars for sale in the magazine as far as I could
determine.

Interestingly, there was a section listing the values of cars in pounds.
These were obviously generic in nature, but there were three condition
categories:                SHOW   AVERAGE   RESTORE

Under these they grouped: 1800/1500/1600        8500     4250     1800
                          Mini Marcos           4000     1700      350
                          3 litre to '71        9500     5000     2000
                          3 litre '81 to '90    9000     4500     2500
