Ashley,
Looked at my engine mounts last night for the V6
and they are not offset. Both mounts appear to be equidistant from the
front of the car.

I've now spoken to Rory, and I tought I ought to share what I've
found out with you guys just in case any of it is useful!
The exhaust manifolds I have ARE identical! This is because they are
the wrong ones! (they were for the Scimitar and may even be specific
to that car, the ones that I need and you guys with the V6 have are
from the Ford Zodiac and ARE both different! they were turned round
from the original instalation to face forward instead of backwards.
Now I've also asked Rory about the tubular manifolds he can supply
instead, these do not require any modification to the footwells as
has been mentioned here in the past, this is only the case for the V8
instalation in which case approx 1/2inch adjustment is required.
As for the engine mounts it would appear that on the V6 the mounting
points on the chassis are both in the same position which is just
behind the wishbone mounting point closed to the footwell. Does this
make sense to you guys and could you please confirm this for me so I
can move my right hand mounting.
My next question to Rory was regarding the use of my Ford Corsair
2000E 4speed gearbox, Rory advised me (as many of you have mind),
that I should definatley ditch this for either a 4 speed overdrive or
a 5speed Granada box (as fitted to the last Granada's with the Essex
engine). Can anyone enlighten me as to any suggest upgrade route they
may have taken with this one?
What I have learned today has obviously put my ETD (estimated time to
Drive ;) ) back some what, but I am sure I will bounch back!
Thanks for all your help guys even thoughyou thought I was mad
earlier with the exhaust question - thankfully I now understand why
you would have thought this :)
Cheers
Ashley
