Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

Hi all, I can't seem to find in the manual or the menus where to affect a virtual instrument's cutoff/attack/release etc. Also when the instrument is a synth, where to choose the sound generator? 

The effects, EQ and compression options are easily found. But the items above...not so much. I just switched over to Logic, and I cannot image that Garage Band has this, but Logic does not? Hopefully I'm just missing it!

Can you be more specific about what you are doing to call up a  
virtual synth?

Also- Garage Band synths are accessible in Logic, so you can use them  
the way you always have.

Logic Synths (depending on which one) can be very basic or very  
complex sound generators...

Each instrument is different and some don't have envelope controls (Attack, decay, etc).

Dbl click on the blue rectangle that has the name of the instrument in it (on the channel 
strip, not the plugins at the top, just above the volume fader). This should open the user 
interface for the instrument and the various option should be visible.

That's good news as well!!! I'm importing Garage Band synth tracks into Logic just fine, but I thought I could only bring up Logic synths while in that application. 

Where do you access the Garage Band synths while in Logic? Thanks

Click on any Software instrument channel or reassign it (ctrl and hold  
any channel>Reassign track object>Audio>software instrument)
After the track is changed, on the extreme left of your arrangement  
window will be a label "I/O" directly below that is a window.  If you  
click and hold on that, a list of all plug-ins will come up; Garage  
Band Instruments is listed in its own section.  Move the cursor and  
you'll see all the instruments in Garage Band listed.
