Logic 7.2.3 Problems with Exporting Tracks to File

Logic 7.2.3 Problems with Exporting Tracks to File

2006-11-21 by Kent Sandvik

Has anyone else seen this happening with latest Logic, would to
double-check this before I blast of a bug report to Apple...

If you export regions or tracks, with softsynths (not loops) to file,
it misses the first note on the zero line beat, i.e. the absolutely
first note played. If you nudge it a little bit forward in time, it
works fine... I though this would be related to a specific SW synth,
but it happens with ES2, Zebra2 and so on....

Is there a config issue -- i.e. do I need to play with a specific
setting to go around this problem?

 Thx, Kent

I am not surprised. For any bouncing, I like to add a bar before and after
the target then trim them off after.

By the way, has anyone noticed that Logic is putting things on the 2nd tick
instead of the first - for example putting audio at 1 1 1 1 - but then you
look at it in the event list and its 1 1 1 2.

Thanks for verifying this, I think this got worse with 7.2.3, but not
sure anymore. Will file a radar bug report. --Kent

I get the same problem too. I have a pretty "clean system' but I thought it was some sort of
background system thing kicking in and causing the hick-up. I turned off energy saver,
removed wigets, aware of any background apps running, etc..still get the same problem.

I get it with loops as well. If its a loop, I have to ad a few extra bars, and then 'edit back'
later. If its a region I have to start a bar or so early. A bit of a pain, but shouldn't have to
be in a top program like Logic Pro. I switched over from Cubase and LOVE logic !!

This is a great forum w/tons of help !

OK, l will do some more testing today to see if there are workarounds,
changing buffer sizes, or something else... Yes, in case this is a
bug, I hope it's fixed ASAP, makes it tough to render out material for
reuse (remixing and so on...). --Kent
