Re: [Logic_Cafe] Digest Number 295

Re: [Logic_Cafe] Digest Number 295

I'm in Logic 6 on a Mac G4 Powerbook.
I'm trying to figure out how to mix down to an iTunes dragable format.
I can mixdown the audio files to an aiff, I believe.
But how do I mixdown my "audio instrument" MIDI files?
Then, how do I mix the audio aiff and the audio instrument into one input that I could then treat as a complete file/song and drag to iTunes?
Can anyone help? I'm desperate to get this figured out.

Im interested in how you "approve' new members. I belong to another group (jazz transcriptions) and the members are very upset when spammers manage to get into the room.

Can you tell us how you do this?

Tim

I moderate another group for a little software company that I have - but after one spamming incident I made it so you can not join unless approved. its interesting because I get bogus requests once or twice a week from people trying to sneak in - and thier comments are total crap (the software had nothing to do with sales).

Its easy you set the group so no one can join without approval. Its an option
which the list owner can set. Evidently they go fishing for groups. I have
three attempts to join in the last week. However, legitimate potential members
have to be approved individually too.

One way:
Select the track you want by soloing it and hit the bounce button
underneath the master output fader in the Track Mixer and follow your
nose.
For a whole mix take the solo off.

Paul.

i think you can output tracks to separate audio files too. or just bounce the whole thing down to an AIFF, then put it in Itunes, and convert to MP3, name it, adjust the start and end.

Aaron,

I do stuff all the time between Logic 6 and iTunes on my G4.

You can save your Audio Instrument as an audio file by making that instrument "solo."
Then BOUNCE it down by going to your main output on the mixer window. There is a
button on the bottom right of the main output fader called "bounce" and it will mixdown
everything from your mix that would be heard through your speakers if you were to push
"play" instead. You can bounce it down as an SDII (Sound Designer 2) file and iTunes can
import that as something if you drag it in.

iTunes, by the way, can encode into about 4 different formats if you go into settings,
importing. You can change your default encoding format to mp3, aiff, acc, or .wav

As far as mixing together your audio track and your audio instrument, that is a
BOUNCE thing also, just create the mix in Logic how you like it, and do a BOUNCE from the
mixer output master fader.

I hope this clears it up!

       Pete
