Hello All,
I recorded a friend playing a classical piano piece. We did about 8-9 takes of her doing
the piece and I'm trying to do a little cut/paste work to get the best of her work all into
one track. It seems like when I paste, a little pop is created. Any ideas? I tried what I
think is a cross-fade, and that didn't help.
I'm using Logic 6.3.1 on Mac OS 10.3.
Thanks!

Set the type to "eqp" and make sure the regions overlap (or there will be nothing to crossfade). Also there is a tiny bug: If you play the section in cyclemode while setting the crossfade, the changes won't have any effect until you manually play the section from the start again. Maurits.

> In the sample editor go to the option to find zero crossings. When connecting two sections together, finding zero crossings doesn't make a difference; that's only useful at a start or end. Because when you connect regions, the playback will jump from the previous region to the next one at the moment the next one starts, and it would be extremely coincidental if this would be a zero crossing point of the previous region. You don't actually have any control over this unless you move the second one around but usually you don't want that. :) Maurits.

there is a feature called fade in and fade out in the upper left corner of the arrange view for each audio track for fade in set a number greater than zero (it is in milliseconds) this works quickly and transparently and eliminates any crossover error in the clip

Its not that obvious graphically as you might expect even on a mono file because the graph you see is a "connect the dots" so I think you might have a positive bit followed by a negative one, and the line appears to cross the axis. However, in practice, I usually turn this feature off, and just just reposition the start point of the sample at what looks close to a the start of big wave, and look for a trough at the back end too. For drastic situations you can actually get the pencil and draw over spikes and such but that a last resort. I recorded a friend playing a classical piano piece.
