Logic Express-making the most of two macs...plus controller query

2006-02-12 by Jon Scordia

Hi list,

I'm new to the list and fairly new to Logic.

I have a mac G5 1.8GHz 1.2gig ram and a 17" G4 Powerbook, 1GHz, 1gig
ram. I use an Edirol firewire audio in/out box.

I have

I'm starting to rack up a number of good AU instrument and effect
plugins. Is there a simple way of using the resources of both machines
linked together? Share the load of plug-ins across both processors?
Obviously Logic Pro can, but I want to work my skills up to that to
justify the expense. Apple X-grid looks interesting but I'm sure it can
only help such tasks as rendering to MP3 etc, no live stuff.

Also, has anyone tried the M-Audio Keystation M88 pro? I'm looking for
a decent hammer action weighted keyboard and plugin controller.

All ideas welcome!

Thank you

Regards

Jon
