Melodyne is a standalone like Reason but I guess you can rewire it?

If I didn't already own the Sonic Maximizer, I would definitely buy
that before banking the remaining $900 for the computers.
Which logic plug are you talking about that is a knockoff of BBE? I
want to compare the two.
I think its called Exciter. Ableton Live has one like it too. But the BBE is simpler - just two controls. I bought the BBE when it came out originally (VST os 9) but then then Virsonic sold out or someething, and BBE took it over, and they give absolute no credit or upgrade path from the Virsonic BBE to theres (they had licensed it to them). So I hate to spend full price for the same plug twice. So the BBE is among Waves and Metasynth and other stuff that I am keeping on a os 9 drive.
