If it were me, I'd find out why those things happen and update the OS so
that they aren't even needed. I've never had to repair permissions on a
Windows machine. (Any of the probably four or five WinXP machines I've had.
[That is checked in WinXP as part of the disk check facility.]) However, I
have had to on the one OSX machine I have several times. I personally think
it is a bug in the OS that it ever has to be done.
