Metal -- Etchant Compatibility

Metal -- Etchant Compatibility

Any one know what metals would be compatable with CuCl2/H202 etchant for use in the etchant tank?

Choises:

Aluminum
Carbon Steel
18-8 stainless steel
303 stainless steel
304 stainless steel
316 stainless steel

430 stainless steel
Monel
Titanium

I think titanium is the only choice but I don't know about monel.

The PCB holder in my tank was made using a titanium rod, since
professional etching tank equipment is also made of titanium.

Titanium should be OK. It's often used when making PCBs.

Titanium works fine with CuCl2 or FeCl. Most of the others won't though
I have no experience with Monel.

Monel is a nickel alloy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monel

As it also contains copper and some iron, I wouldn't use it.
