eagle library part

eagle library part

2009-07-27 by adastra_2001

I need help. I need a library part for a 7555 CMOS timer smd chip for Eagle. I've looked in the part library and I do not see one. I looked in the download section of the Cadsoft site and I did not see one. I didnt see any generic 8 pin smd parts that I could "fudge". My Eagle skill is not really good enough to make one from scratch. If someone could either email me a 7555 smd library part for Eagle or teach me how to make such a file, I'd love it!
Thank You

I open eagle and searched for *555*. Library 'Linear' part *555, has 555
in so8 and dip8 packages. I think by smd you mean so8.

And also it is not that dificult to make a new part, or copy and modify an
existing one in case you really need it.

For some reason the chip I wanted was not in the most recent version of Eagle. I found it in the library of an earlier version. So thanks for letting me know it was someplace. I had a hard time beliveing they didn't have a 555 timer in Eagle!

Just checked my copy of 5.6.0 (which as of writing is the latest version) and in the linear library there are a raft of 555s, as the previous poster said, both in DIL-8 & SO-8.

All versions of Eagle come with the same libraries, so your installation must be broken if it doesn't have the linear.lbr library with SMD 555 variants...

I havent installed 5.6 yet, I was looking in 5.2 I didnt see it, I did find it in 5.1. Perhaps the install is bad as you suggest, like I said, I couldnt belive it was not a part in the library.
