MG Negative Dry Film Resist

MG Negative Dry Film Resist

2008-10-27 by mma3d

Has anyone tried the new MG Negative Dry Film Resist
<http://www.mgchemicals.com/products/416dfr.html> ?

I've ordered a roll+developer from Altex Electronics
<http://www.altex.com/MG-Chemicals-Dry-Film-Resist-Negative-416DFR-5-P14\
7101.aspx> , but they can't ship until they get 9 more orders...

Yes, That is the stuff I have been experimenting with the past few weeks. You may want
to check www.mouser.com, I think the stuff is cheaper there and you don[t have to wait for
"9 more orders".

FYI,

For most of these dry film resists, I've found that a 15 second
exposure in direct sunlight is about right. Rainy or otherwise cloudy
days ruin the parade, of course.

Allow exposed film to 'age' for at least 10 minutes; then develop with
1/2 TSP sodium carbonate (Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda) in 8oz of
warm water. Strip with 2 TBS sodium carbonate in 8oz hot water.

I'm getting .010 traces with excellent definition using this
method...your results may require some experimentation from there.

Hope that's helpful, Jim

Hi all,

has anyone already use sodium metasilicate for development ?
I've read that you can leave your PCB in it without any risk of over-development and it can last for years.

I have used it, and it has a lot more latitude than NaOH. It's more
expensive, though, and not as easy to find. I prefer NaOH.

1% NaOH and the sodium silicates will strip negative dry film resist.

Both work fine with positive resist, of course.

To fan_nastelroy@...
Hi

What is the price for 5-15 feet off you're dry film and the shipping cost to
Denmark from Indonesia.

Best regard

Dear Renee..
Denmark is very far from Indonesia, i'm afraid the cost shipping is
more expensive than the cost of dry film photoresist. Is more than $23
to shipping to denmark from Indonesia. You may try to find at Europe,
so the delivery cost not expensive
