hi group, here's another approach I found if it's not posted here yet.

Well, good luck to him but he isn't yet there by a long way.

Also, remember that breadboard has no continous copper layer to short
the HV out, so even if it would work with that.....

In my opinion, none of the problems raised here was addressed,
although i'm very much in favour of any experiment.

I'm actually more interested on his other idea of replacing the laser
diode of the printer but instead of UV one, use a laser diode from a
dvd burner. I could then coat a PCB with black etch resist ink and
burn the layout on it. The downside tho, from what I've seen on other
hacks on dvd burner laser diode, it'd be very slow, and I still have
to etch the board afterwards. Not to mention if the laser diode would
actually be compatible with the controller. Anyhow it's just a
thought, just another fun project for a hobbyist like me.

Not sure if the laser will work together with the rotating mirror in a
printer (if it is still strong enough to burn something).

But it's an idea.

I plan to test this one day. I got a laserjetII sitting here. Maybe
put the laser head on flatbed plotter-like and set it a few cm's above
the pcb. Yes it's an idea, I post it to spark someone else's creativity :)
