Resistor Divider network using a multi turn Pot

Resistor Divider network using a multi turn Pot

2006-12-18 by Thomas

I was thinking about using a multiturn pot as a RD network to scale down +5V
to +2.5V for my Data Aq as some of the sensors are +5V, normaly I have used
1% resistors or better but was wondering about a multiturn pot to do this
job, lets say that a 5k pot is set to somewhere in the middle of it range at
2.5K ohms once this is set to show the correct scaling of 2.5V is it always
going to be good enough I mean will it be as good as the 1% resistor setup ?
my thoughts are that Temperature fluctuations or any variations will affect
the pot as whole keeping things in proportion and scaled accordingly.

Thanks
Thomas
