I note some state an aversion to "acid". Ferric chloride may not belong in
salad-dressing, but it is NOT an acid! Ammonium perchlorate, the "other
etchant", isn't either! Wonder if these people have a fear of vinegar???
Nevermind! No point!

I have a super fund cleanup site near me that used Ferric Chloride
to make circuit boards. Technically it is not an acid but it should be
handled like acid. Real vinegar is made from wine. The stuff sold in
stores is just another chemical. Read this about Ferric Cloride:

I have seen lasers that appeared to be able to focus their cutting
depth. This would eliminate the concern about buring the substrate.
However, I know nothing of laser cutting/ething machines. IMTS is
comming up in fall of 2006, that is always a great place to go to
learn all about machine tools. Hopefully I will have time to go
there and nose around.

No doubt about it. I am just looking at all the options and
possibilites and making sure I am not "missing something" obvious.

Your right, no point. However, fears are often not reasonable or
logical. I have a fear of heights - what the hell? I have flown
hundreds of thousands of miles in airplanes - yet I don't like being
on a 10 foot ladder?

Ditto. Statistically, even per-foot of altitude, you are still safer in a
commercial jet than on that ladder! My wife cleans out the gutters all around
the house each time they need it! Makes me feel SO unworthy!

Isn't it amazing how stupid it feels! Even bridges give me the
creeps!
