I've just rescued an abandoned Brother HL-630 laser printer left on
the pavement near where I live. It was complete and even had the
printer lead attached.
It had been raining heavily so I took out the drum and toner
cartridge, dried it out, replaced them and switched it on. It won't
feed paper properly so it probably needs a replacement drum, there
isn't much else to go wrong. Some of the toner image gets transferred
onto the paper before it jams, so the toner transfer must be working.
I might try to get it working properly and see if I can turn it into
a photoplotter. Has anyone else experimented with this particular
printer?
