What is better for smd (de-)soldering?

solder tweezers or hot air pencil?

As the last hot air pencil attempt failed i now need to build a better
one (with a workig heater) or i could build solder tweezers.

I want to be able to exchange smd parts.

I have worked with neither so i hope to find what is better...
