I'm not sure that necessarily sounds like the transport medium; more a technique issue. If you use the wrong heat/pressure it is fairly easy to hose up toner transfer --even with the specialty coated papers (pnp and others). I've found that using a paper laminator solves a great many headaches using this medium. As for me, I *prefer* magazine stock; but a lot of other paper types can be made to work.
