Cleaning is at most a quick rinse. I don't even rinse the 
developer, just dump the solution and put away in the storage box 
for next time. Dried salts left from a previous PCB session is 
not going to effect anything.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
