developing what ? If NaOH, then no.
Washing is ok. Persulfate etching might be ok for short 
while, or only until the aluminum oxide layer holds out. 
FeCl3, CuCl2+HCl, forget it.
Whats wrong with non disposable plastic trays ?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
