Thanks Andrew and Matt, I've seen the paint process, and was hoping to find an alternate material. Nothing against paint, it's cheap and easy, but can be a tad on the messy side. There also seems to be a widespread want of something better, but I haven't seen any solutions yet (still digging). I recall it being important to configure the tool path for the laser to start on the end of the board that was furthest from the vacuum outlet of the cutting area, and then working towards it. This was to prevent the vaporized paint particles from redepositing on the already-exposed parts of the board.
