Never heard of the Alps thermal one so I googled it and found an Alps MD1300 and an Alps MD5000 that looked like they might be what you where talking about. Are these the ones ? And if so - How good does the foil printing come out on the one you bought. Also when googling I spotted the Citizen PN60 - which I know I have one of sitting in a box somewhere at home. I might dig it up as it will be easier to pull apart than the big dye sub.
