AND, what will a laser that can burn-away copper METAL do to  the epoxy below

If there were a better way than etching, it would have surely  become a 
commercial reality by now!
 
I note some state an aversion to "acid".  Ferric chloride  may not belong in 
salad-dressing, but it is NOT an acid!  Ammonium  perchlorate, the "other 
etchant", isn't either!   Wonder if these  people have a fear of vinegar???   
Nevermind!  No  point!
