All inkjet papers are different. Some have a clay coating, some use a ceramic "microcoat", some have a plastic coat that kind of seals up after ink is applied. Often the thick photo paper seems to have a plastic coated back or something else making it water resistant. You want the kind with a water soluble coating. IE, probably not the really high end inkjet photo paper.
