Oh I see!!! As well as it being listed as item #3711575832 (the one I've been following), it's also listed as #4100923740.
Strange!!!

Given the fact we still have one day to go, I have contacted the seller
with location New York, and asked him for an explanation.

Thanks for reporting this Mike !

Harald.

affaire !

Peter, that other auction(#4100923740) is a SCAM!!! Somebody is
trying to confuse the potential bidders.

I'm the original seller (MJW87) all pictues on the auction (even on
the scam auction) have red imprints (mjw87 Ebay auction 2004) and
also the page points to my website (www.wavebeam.com/MFX2) which has
more pictures and demo song. I already posted a warning on that site
about this SCAM auction and reported it to Ebay Safe Harbor.

So the real and legitimate auction is auction #3711575832 so you can
bid on it if you're interested.

Thanks.

Re: [Fairlight-CMI] Scam Fairlight on ebay...

Hello Jean-Bernard,

It is true that looking for bargains on e-bay is a bit contradictory.
However, if someone is unaware of the Fairlight list, a likely place to
find a Fairlight is a forum or e-bay. Some sellers may have decent
intentions, some may not. We now have, thanks to a reader of this forum
who also follows e-bay, an example of a very strange situation. We still
do not know for certain that the New York seller is a scam. His ad may
have been copied by the person saying it is in London, although the latter
says to be registered in France and did so yesterday with zero feedback.

We'll find out.

Best regards,
Harald.
