The cat is out of the bag......

Produced by a Swedish musician with samples made by an CMI ex-owner.

Bought something similar sounding (minus the reason patches) on ebay for like $9 USd which turned out to be a pirating of the samples by the Australian cat I've just forgotten his name but the guy whom did the original stuff for cult sampler and the other mix of vintage machines virtual instrument, which apparently has been floating around as "warez" or wherever these guys are getting it. ;

Do you think this is anything more than that with some reason patches added, for a lot of money?

I would suspect that this refill is very good. The creator is a longtime
programmer with excellent chops.

I have not heard the refill as I don´t use Reason.

So are we to assume the developer obtained licensing for the original library or has the original library become public domain?

Here is a direct quote from the PowerFX website: "You get over 2000 sounds in all, including all of the Fairlight's 33 precious 8 inch factory discs. To celebrate the Fairlight feel, all new samples are labeled and arranged in virtual 8 inch disks as well."

http://www.powerfx.com/ProductInfo.aspx?prod_id=1721

There is even a link to Peter Wielk's pdf of the original sound library list of factory sounds for reference.

A.f.a.i.k no licensing has been given. They asked Fairlight but no answer
was replied.
