Actually Wiff is one of the most accomplished synth programmers alive. His opinion is actually worth listening to. If you like it, it's "breathy", if you hate it it's a "nasal honk" (with or without filter). Although I do agree that in some ways he doesn't get it- for example, criticising the cello on Army Dreamers? If Mrs. Bush wanted it to sound like real cellos, she would've got real cellos. On the other hand, 20,000 back in the day for a type of distortion pedal was a bit much! Sacre bleu! ;)
